Dan + Shay released their emotionally-charged, moving new song about appreciating life called "Young" on Friday May 15. The honest, personal title track from the duo's upcoming sixth studio album is packed with a lot of emotion and takes the listener on the journey of life from when the young man is a kid all way the way up to when he is an old man. This song is such a beautiful reminder to appreciate your youth while you have it because the time goes by quicker than you think, and one day down the road, whether you realize it or not, you will be in the final stages of life.
My eyes continue to well up while listening to this incredibly poignant song on repeat, as I can relate to many of its lyrics. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney truly put their entire hearts and souls into writing, recording, and producing this track. I hope it becomes a radio single in the near future. I can already see it winning multiple accolades at the multi-genre and country music award shows in the future!
