Dan + Shay reveal highly anticipated sixth studio album "Young" and its release date on Thursday morning

Fans of country music duo Dan + Shay have been patiently waiting for them to announce the title and release date of their forthcoming sixth studio album. On Thursday morning, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney broke the highly anticipated news via their social media platforms that their sixth studio album titled Young will be released on August 21, 2026! While that is over three months away, I know the time will pass by quickly because from following the guys over the years, in addition to releasing their latest single "Say So" from the project on April 3rd and the title track "Young" coming out at midnight on May 15th, I know they will put out a few more tracks early leading up to the long-awaited August release date.

They also revealed the album cover featuring Smyers and Mooney both dressed in a suit and tie. Smyers is leaning on the teacher's desk in a classroom and Mooney is standing behind it. I cannot wait to find out the significance of the classroom when I hear the rest of the song "Young" at midnight!

Dan + Shay shared with fans what they can expect overall from the sixth studio album in their Instagram post this morning.

"This is by far our most personal album yet, and gives a real-time snapshot of exactly where we are in our lives," the duo began their Instagram post.

Adding to this, according to the album description on their website, "Young serves as a personal snapshot into the lives of the duo's Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney as they've navigated family, faith, and following dreams during one of the most prolific seasons of their 12+ year career."

Later in their Instagram post caption, the guys thanked the fans for their patience while working on the project.

"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your patience and support while we made YOUNG," Dan + Shay continued their Instagram post caption. "We've never been more proud of a batch of songs, and hope they mean as much to you as they mean to us."

Also, do not forget to stream or download the title track "Young" out at midnight EDT on May 15th! After listening to the verse and chorus a lot in the last week, I absolutely cannot wait to hear the remainder of the song and put it on repeat in less than two hours!
