Today's question is: Which Dan + Shay album era is your favorite and why?

Your choices are: the debut album Where It All Began, the sophomore album Obsessed, the self-titled album Dan + Shay, the 2021 release Good Things, 2023's Bigger Houses, and the duo's most recent project Young.

I love Dan + Shay's first four albums as well as their most recent project. If you had to ask me to pick a favorite, I would not be able to choose. Each release was special to me for so many reasons, including Dan's incredible production work and Shay's stellar vocals on each song, just to name a couple of the many aspects that go into the music-making process. 

However, when the duo released their Bigger Houses album on September 15, 2023, after my first full listen through, it became my absolute favorite era and album. That still rings true over three years later. Tracks on it including "Heartbreak On The Map", Missing Someone", and "Heaven + Back" helped me continue to process losing my aunt earlier that year, and losing my grandma and uncle in 2022. These songs also helped to start healing my heart and mind after the immense amount of loss that I had experienced. I still listen to these tunes multiple times during the year when my aunt, grandma, and uncle are on my mind. "Heaven + Back" reminds me of all three of them, especially my grandma. I picture myself dancing with her up in heaven having the best time! 

While I can connect with every song on the album for different reasons, the three I mentioned above are my top three favorites! "Bigger Houses" would be tied for third place!🏡💙🎵

#ThrowbackThursday to 10 years ago of this cute photo of Dan + Abby + their 2 rescue dogs via Dan's Instagram account

#ThrowbackThursday to over 10 years ago on June 27, 2016 when Dan Smyers posted this cute picture of himself alongside Abby Law, his girlfriend at the time! Dan (Smyers) is seen posing with their dog Chief and Abby is smiling for the camera with their dog Joy. 

"Cuddling pets, always", he captioned the post.

The couple got married on May 13, 2017. Since then, their clan has grown to four rescue dogs, and they still post about their furry four-legged friends on their social media accounts from time to time! The Smyers' also continue to raise awareness for animal adoption, fostering, and rescuing in their community and while Dan is on tour. Stay tuned for future posts about their current rescue dogs and the good work they both do for animals, particularly dogs! 🐶

It is #WelcomeWednesday! What is a favorite memory you have with Dan + Shay?

It is Dan + Shay #WelcomeWednesday on my blog post and Facebook and Instagram accounts! 

Today's question is: What is a favorite memory you have with Dan + Shay?

This can be anything from the past, present, or anytime in between! Some examples include a memory you have from one of their concerts, an interaction you had with them during a meet and greet, an interaction you had with them on social media, etc.! If you have not met them or attended a concert, feel free to share what your favorite song is, which album is your favorite, what qualities you admire about the duo from interacting with them on social media, etc.!

I love being able to read and see the experiences other fans have had with Dan + Shay over the years. We are all connected by our love for the duo and their music, but we have all had different, unique experiences!

I want to see as much participation as possible!  😊

I will start with one of my favorite memories from the Where It All Began album era. Dan + Shay surprised me on Valentine's Day in 2015! A delivery person came to our door with this beautiful, colorful bouquet of flowers! My dad brought them inside to our kitchen table. I had no idea who they were for or who sent them. We opened up the card tucked inside. Dan + Shay sent them to me!💐I was very excited and happy! It was such an amazing day! 😊I was one of a handful of fans who were surprised with flowers on February 14, 2015!

The week before the holiday, they had a contest on Twitter. Fans who interacted with the post in one way or another had a chance to win flowers from the duo. I did not participate because the guys had been interacting with me so much on the social media platform since I fell in love with them and their music in early 2014. I wanted other fans to have their shot at winning the prize. By the time the surprised happened, I had completely forgotten about the contest!

This picture and day will stay in my memory forever. It was such a special Valentine's Day for me that I will always be grateful for. Every special memory I have had with Dan + Shay over the years (Stay tuned for future posts about them) will never be taken for granted! 🩵🎵💐
