Announcement: I am taking a break from my blog, but I will absolutely be back in the near future!

To my wonderful blog readers and social media followers,

First of all, I truly appreciate each and every one of you who interact with my blog posts and Instagram posts in one way or another. Your support continues to mean the world to me! 💙

Earlier this month, I celebrated my one year anniversary of starting this blog dedicated to all things about my favorite country music duo Dan + Shay! They are still truly my favorite overall artists in all of music. I continue to enjoy writing about all of the different aspects of the duo, including their families, music, and television appearances over the years, to name a few things. I also still enjoy my "Music Monday" polls and coming up with trivia questions about the guys and fill in the correct missing lyric questions for my readers and Instagram followers on Tuesday's, as well as my other weekly theme posts.

However, right now for personal reasons, I have made the decision to step away from my blog for a little while. While this decision was very hard to make, I know taking a break is the best and right thing for me to do at this time. I need to focus on myself right now. 💙

When I feel like the time is right, I will absolutely be back, and better than ever with my content because Dan + Shay and their music are incredibly important to me! I will still do my daily theme posts, write about the duo's new music and full sixth studio album once that is out on August 21st, review their previous songs and music videos, get back to doing my monthly question and answer sessions with fans, and much more! 😊🎵

Because the duo will be releasing more songs and music videos over the next couple of months, I will post their updates to my @dailydashofdanandshay Instagram story when they become available, so make sure to keep an eye out for those! I do not want my readers and followers to miss out on those things! When I come back to writing blog posts daily, I will give my full insight on all of the new songs! 😊🎵

Thank you again for all of your support over the last year and change, and I will be back writing my best content yet for you when I am ready! 😊🎵💙

#ThrowbackThursday featuring adorable pictures of Dan + Shay as kids from the new @danandshayhq Instagram account post on May 12th

Prior to Dan + Shay releasing the song "Young" from their upcoming project of the same name being released on August 21st, the duo's new HQ Instagram account (@DanAndShayHQ) celebrated the track by posting cute pictures of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney when they were kids!

Speaking of the song "Young", here are my thoughts on what it might be about. As of right now, we still do not the full backstory/backstories of the new emotional song. I hope more details are revealed soon from the guys! But as a longtime fan and listener, I think it may have been pulled from conversations that Mooney had with his oldest son Asher and second oldest Ames. I also think both Smyers and Mooney started talking about their childhoods up through where they are now on life with their co-writers Liz Rose, Hilary Lindsey, and Lori McKenna. The lyrics take you through the different stages of life and overall, they remind you that whether you realize it or not, time goes by fast and it is important to live every day like it is your last day. Alongside the three Nashville hit songwriters I mentioned above, Dan + Shay were really able to take some trips down memory lane that turned into this beautiful, delicate, emotional, meaningful song. I will have more for you on all of the lyrics, vocals, and production of "Young" in an upcoming post.

For my #ThrowbackThursday post, please enjoy the four precious pictures of the duo as kids below. The screenshots below are courtesy of the @danandshayhq Instagram post on 05/12/2026! After seeing these photos and listening the song "Young" on repeat many times over the last couple of weeks, I can already tell the new studio album coming out on August 21st will be emotional, nostalgic, and more feelings in between. We are definitely going to get to know the duo on a very deep level, which I am incredibly excited about!

Country music duo Dan + Shay dressed up in their Sunday best and give hopeful performance of "Say So" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Country music duo Dan + Shay hit the television talk show late night circuit last week to start promoting their new powerful single "Say So". Their performance of the song that is changing lives aired on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday May 19th during the final segment of the broadcast.

In the past when Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have performed on television talk shows, they typically were dressed in very casual outfits. But this time around, they decided to dress up in their "Sunday best" for the occasion. Smyers was seen sporting a gray suit over a black collared button-down dress shirt covered in white polka dots and Mooney was donning a black suit over a white button-down dress shirt and black tie. There has been a theme with this in the "Say So" and "Young" music videos, which you will see my commentary about at some point this coming week.

When the guys sang the first verse of the song where we find out about the unexpected call they received regarding their friend who died from suicide, and the disbelief they felt when it happened, they had somber, serious expressions on their faces. In addition, the lights on the stage were different shades of blue to represent the dark, heavy subject.

Once Mooney's vocals soared and Smyers joined in during the chorus that mentions asking for help when you are going through a tough time and points out that "you're not alone", you could see the more hopeful expressions on their faces. This time, the lights turned to brighter colors including purple, and there were red, pink, and orange colored clouds on the big screen behind them.

The guys went back to showing serious emotions on their faces and the lights went back to different shades of blue during the second verse that talks about even though it is a hard and scary thing to do, it is incredibly important to let someone know if you are struggling. If you do not, you will most likely suffer the most unimaginable consequence.

During the bridge, the lights were still multiple varieties of blue. The more hopeful colored lights showed up again during the final chorus and Dan + Shay's infectious, positive energy was on full display while singing to the crowd.

I cannot wait to see them perform "Say So" on other TV shows over the next several months and later this year on tour. It is already making a huge impact on people's lives and I know it will continue to for months and years to come. The duo were incredibly brave to put this song out there and I am beyond proud of them for doing so. It is literally saving lives! 💙

Below is the clip of their performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" for you to enjoy, courtesy of Jimmy Kimmel Live's YouTube channel!

Dan + Shay brew up excitement about their upcoming "The Young Tour" with hard-to-beat ticket deal for amphitheater shows in May 22nd Instagram video

Tickets for Dan + Shay's upcoming "The Young Tour" this fall officially went on sale to the general public on Friday May 22nd. To celebrate the occasion, the duo posted a video on social media yesterday afternoon. Filmed as it started raining hard, both Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney were talking fast so they could get inside as soon as possible.

Featuring Mooney wearing a black T-shirt and jean jacket and Smyers donning a white tank top, black ballcap, glasses, and bandana around his neck, the duo's producer (Smyers) also had his guitar on him, which he used at the end of the clip! More on that later in my post! The guys talked about how excited they are for the Young album to come out on August 21st and for "The Young Tour" to start on September 11th.

The country music duo have talked about this in past posts about their tours as well as while they are performing. They understand that the fans are spending their hard-earned money on tickets to see them put on the best concert possible. And they always know how expensive things are in the world. Every time I have seen them over the last decade, I think each ticket price was very reasonable, including when I saw them in the arena setting in 2024.

In yesterday's social media video and below in the caption, the duo talked about a "limited time" offer they worked on with Ticketmaster for the amphitheater shows on their new tour.

"We wanted to keep tickets for The Young Tour as affordable as possible, so for a limited time, we are offering lawn seats for just $35 ALL-IN," Dan + Shay wrote in the caption. "No surprise fees."

So, what are you waiting for?! Go get your $35 lawn tickets at an outdoor show closest to you while this INCREDIBLE deal lasts at the link here https://www.danandshay.com/tour . This tour is absolutely one that you do NOT want to miss out on!

While it was still raining hard, with Smyers' acoustic guitar in hand, he and Shay Mooney sang the chorus of the song "Lipstick" from their sophomore album Obsessed. Smyers mentioned that when it comes to putting the setlist together for any of their tours, this emotional track is always the most requested by their fans in social media comments.
