It is #WelcomeWednesday here on my blog post and my @dailydashofdanandshay Instagram post.
Today's question features two of my all-time favorite (so far!) Dan + Shay award show performances! It is very hard for me to choose which one is my favorite because I love them both equally for different reasons. That is why I am asking you to decide which one is your favorite!
The first video is the duos performance of "Tequila" at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. This was their first time performing on the biggest award show stage in music. I love that they sang it acoustically with Shay Mooney's incredible vocals and Dan Smyers' flawless harmonies and excellent guitar playing until a six piece orchestra joined them toward the end. I also love Mooney's elevated vocals toward the end, including the surprise, goosebump-inducing moment at the very end.
The second video is the duos performance "Save Me The Trouble" at the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards. I love that while Smyers lead the performance with his strong harmonies and guitar playing, he stayed in the background and truly let lead vocalist Mooney shine and do his thing from start to finish. With the exception of "I Should Probably Go To Bed", "Save Me The Trouble" is Dan + Shay's biggest vocal yet. To me, Mooney truly gave a showstopping vocal performance that was drama-filled with angst and frustration. He also made a surprise move during it that you will see when viewing this clip!
I encourage you to watch the two videos below and tell me which one is your favorite in the comment section of this post or my Instagram post! Please vote A for the top clip (61st Annual Grammy Awards performance of "Tequila") or B for the bottom clip (57th Annual Country Music Association Awards performance of "Save Me The Trouble"). Voting will be open through tomorrow afternoon!
Of course I love them both but I think I will choose Save Me The Trouble!
