Dan + Shay have collaborated with artists outside of the country music genre in the past. They invited pop star Kelly Clarkson to sing with them on "Keeping Score" from their 2018 self-titled album and also joined forces with pop superstar Justin Bieber on their globally successful smash "10,000 Hours" that was featured on the duos Good Things album.
Shawn Mendes is another artist who Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have worked with in the past. While Mendes has not been featured as a guest vocalist on one of their songs yet, he has been involved with the award-winning country duo in other ways. He invited the duo to open for him on his 2019 Australian tour. The duo posed for a picture backstage with the pop artist, which is featured below.
The duo started the post's caption, "we're on vacation (tour) in australia with @shawnmendes! maybe we'll make a song together while we're here? 🇦🇺”
The 27-year old pop artist also had a hand in writing "Body Language" from the duos Good Things album. The emotional song with vivid images in the lyrics was also penned by Scott Harris, Mooney, Jordan Reynolds, and Smyers. Stay tuned for a future post where I break down the lyrics, production, and vocals of this track!
