Dan + Shay Share Fun Acoustic Cover Of Florida Georgia Line Featuring Bebe Rexha Hit "Meant To Me"

Before Dan + Shay met, Florida Georgia Line were the top duo in country music. They debuted in 2012 and racked up numerous hits on country radio. They also won countless accolades at the award shows. I remember hearing their first number one song "Cruise" on the radio for the first time in 2012. It was extremely catchy and made me want to get up to dance. I knew that they were going to make it big in the genre and they did for several years. The duo that is comprised of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelly took a break to work on solo projects, but there has been word recently that they will be reuniting as a duo soon.

When the duo known to many as FGL started their break, that gave Dan + Shay the spotlight to shine on country radio and at the award shows. As I have mentioned in previous posts, the first time I heard Dan Smyers' and Shay Mooney's first single "19 You + Me" on the radio in 2013 (although I did not know their names or the song title at the time), I knew they would hit it big one day just like Florida Georgia Line.

If you are a fan of modern day country music like me, then you probably have have probably heard many of Florida Georgia Line's many radio singles, including their massive 2017 crossover hit "Meant To Me" featuring pop artist Bebe Rexha. That song, especially the chorus, is still stuck in my head today. It has such a great hook! Dan + Shay covered the tune in a short video that was posted on their YouTube channel on March 2, 2018. Showcasing Mooney's signature, smooth vocals and his vocal range accompanied by Dan Smyers' flawless harmonies, the duo put their own spin on the tune and gave a fun acoustic performance of the first verse followed by the chorus. It really looked like they were enjoying themselves! As always with these short covers, the guys left me wanting to hear them sing the remainder of the tune!
