Dressed very casually, which included a salmon colored shirt on Shay Mooney and Dan Smyers wearing his ball cap backwards, the two guys sat on a log and acoustically performed their song about spending the day in the middle of nowhere with your significant other. Both guys played their guitars with full-on passion while Mooney showed off his crazy vocal range. You can also hear Smyers' vocals and harmonies throughout this throwback clip. I think the objective for this video was for the guys to have a fun jam session singing together and they definitely accomplished that!
Watching this video today, I could not remember if I saw it once back when I became a fan in 2014 or if I had not seen it until today. Either way, it was a lot of fun to see where the duo was over 12 years ago. It made me cry some happy tears, smile, and also laugh.
After watching this clip and writing about it being in a reflective mode, it has brought me to say this. Both guys truly had an incredibly special bond when they met at Smyers' house party on December 7, 2012, and it has remained that way to this day. I think that in the music business, it is rare for two total strangers to meet and hit it off right from the beginning, become good friends, and have that relationship last for a long time. They are both incredibly talented in many avenues and are such genuine, humble, nice human beings. That combination makes me as a fan want to be as loyal as possible to Dan + Shay for many more years to come! 💙

I love this song and this video! I remember watching it on repeat all those years ago and I occasionally turn it on to watch or listen to it still! My daughter loves this song and video as well! Re-watching this just brings back all of those "first time feelings" from back when I fell in love with their music!! I need to put the 'Where It All Began' Album tomorrow while I do some cleaning!!
