It Is My Final "Welcome Wednesday" Of The Year - What Dan + Shay Related New Years Resolutions Are You Making In 2026?

It is my final "Welcome Wednesday" of the year! Going into 2026, what Dan + Shay related New Years resolutions are you making? Will you listen to their music daily (if you don't already!)? Do you plan to listen to some of their earlier albums that you have not played in a while? How about attending a concert on their tour that they are announcing soon? Or interacting with the duo even more on social media? Please let me know in the comment section below! 😊🎡

For the last two years, I have been primarily listening to Dan + Shay's Bigger Houses album, as it has been therapy for me through some immense loss, among other things. And from October through December in 2024 as well as this year, I only listened to It's Officially Christmas: The Double Album on repeat every day. While I am very excited to hear the new music that is going to be released very soon, before and after it comes out, I am going to go back and listen to their first four albums more intently each week: Where It All Began, Obsessed, Dan + Shay, and Good Things! Since becoming a fan of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney in March of 2014, I have mostly heard the songs to enjoy Mooney's lead vocals, Smyers' harmonies and background vocals, and the production. Overall, I understand the meaning of all of the songs, but this year I am going to listen to each song more closely and really dive deep into the stories they tell without any distractions!

Also, I cannot wait to hopefully attend a concert on their new world tour if it comes near me! It has almost been two years since I saw Dan + Shay last! I am very ready to see them perform live again! Being at their shows with my friends is one of my happiest places! When I get the opportunity to attend one of their concerts, each one has been extra special and meaningful to me since I have not been able to see them on tour super often. I hope the time span between shows becomes shorter in 2026 and beyond! 😊🎡

Weekly Country Radio Countdown Host Fitz Provides His Unique Harmony Alongside Dan + Shay On "The Christmas Song"

This is a fitting video to write about to end my Dan + Shay Christmas content until next year! I will have some wrap-up posts the next few days and then will get back to regularly scheduled content on January 1, 2026!

If you have listened to the weekly country radio countdown before, you might be familiar with the host named Fitz. Country Top 40 with Fitz airs on multiple country music radio stations across the United Stations. In addition to hosting the popular show each week, Fitz also gets to do interviews with country music artists, some on the show and others in person.

On December 21, 2025, @CountryClout posted a video on their YouTube channel Shorts page of Fitz interviewing Dan + Shay. The radio host asked Shay Mooney if he could join him and Dan Smyers harmonizing one of their Christmas songs. Mooney joked and said he knew this was coming in the interview. He asked Fitz what song they were going to do, with Mooney ultimately choosing "The Christmas Song". Mooney, Smyers, and Fitz sang the opening verse that includes "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire Jack Frost nipping at your nose." Both members of the duo were on point with their vocals as always while Fitz provided humor in his out of tune and pitchy harmony.

"That was pretty good," Mooney said to Fitz. "I'm not going to lie to you," he continued, with a sarcastic tone. "I feel like we nailed that."

"We always do," Fitz replied with a grin on his face.

Below is the very entertaining clip courtesy of @CountryClout YouTube channel Shorts page for you to enjoy!

Wishing The Happiest Of Birthday’s To Shay Mooney Today!

I want to wish the happiest of birthday’s to Shay Mooney, the lead vocalist of Dan + Shay who turns 34 today! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸŽŠπŸŽπŸŽ‚

Watching him be a loving, caring, kind husband to Hannah and a loving, caring, kind father to their four precious, handsome boys Asher, Ames, Abram, and Aubrey through glimpses on social media over the years has been a pleasure.

Mooney is also hands down the most talented vocalist I have ever heard. The first moment that I heard his beautiful, pure voice on Dan + Shay’s debut single “19 You + Me” on the radio in the Fall of 2013, I knew it was something special. That became even more apparent when I found out the duos name, song title, and name of their debut album Where It All Began in March of 2014. From hearing his voice early on and listening to it mature over the last decade, which is especially noted on their 2023 single “Save Me The Trouble”, getting the opportunity to listen to him sing on Spotify and in YouTube video daily brings so much joy to my life!

I would also like to note that his vocals are out of this world on It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album! And I cannot wait to witness and hear even more growth in his incredible vocals when the duo releases long awaited new music very soon!

I have shared this video on my blog before, but it deserves a spot on this post to showcase Mooney’s crazy, fiery vocals and epic knee slide during Dan + Shay’s performance of “Save Me The Trouble” at the 2023 Country Music Association Awards! While they have had many epic television performances, this is one of them that really stands out to me!

“Flashback Friday” To When Dan + Shay released “It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album” In 2024

Dan + Shay had been teasing their Christmas album all throughout 2024, first in a social media note to the fans in February as well as in social media post captions scattered over the year. When it finally came time for the duo to announce and release the project on October 18, I did not see a double album coming. I thought they would include their rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, all of the originals that have come out since 2020, and a handful of classics, enough to make it a 10-12 song album. But they went for it with a double album, side one that features all of the classics and side two that features the guys previous original songs and a handful of new ones! I had been waiting for this since the moment I heard Dan + Shay’s version of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” for the first time and watching them perform other classic holiday songs on television specials over the year. The duos Christmas album is truly the best one I have ever heard! They delivered 100 percent on every single song!

Please enjoy their joyous, upbeat version of “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” below, courtesy of Dan + Shay’s YouTube channel! ⛄❄ 🎢

"Throwback Thursday": Christmas Edition πŸŽ…

For my final "Throwback Thursday" post of the year, here is a festive portrait that Dan + Shay posted on social media in 2022! While 2022 was really not that long ago, it was when Dan Smyers still had his beautiful long, curly hair! He cut it in 2023 prior to releasing "Save Me The Trouble", the debut single from their Bigger Houses album.

This picture (courtesy of their official Instagram account) make me smile and laugh at the same time! πŸŽ… πŸŽ„πŸ“Έ I hope it makes you feel the same way! Even though they are not related, I feel like Smyers and Shay Mooney have a brotherly bond. They always take the music making process very seriously, but when it comes to many things outside of that like in this picture, they do not take themselves too seriously! The guys like to have fun and be silly! 😁

Merry Christmas to my blog readers and social media followers who celebrate the holiday! I hope you all enjoyed the day with your families! Mine included enjoying a nice ham dinner with sides, spending time with my family, watching football, and listen to Dan + Shay's It's Officially Christmas: The Double Album! I will continue to listen to that fantastic album at least through the new year, if not longer! πŸŽ… πŸŽ„πŸŽΆ

Dan + Shay Go "Rockin' Around The Christmas" Tree In Festive YouTube Shorts Video

When Dan + Shay released It's Officially Christmas: The Double Album on October 18, 2024 through the end of the year, their social media channels were filled with holiday-themed content. You probably have seen many of the pictures and videos in my blog posts over the last several months. Every year, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have stepped up their games alongside their team producing the highest quality content that will bring happiness, joy, and other positive emotions to their fans.

Even when they make short videos (less than one minute), those can make a huge impact on the viewer. One in particular that put a huge smile on my face was the "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" clip they posted on their YouTube channel Shorts page on December 9, 2024. The duo are seen sitting on a platform in a room at what looks like Smyers' home with some beautifully lit Christmas trees behind them. They are mouthing the words to the song as the studio version is playing in the background. Watching Smyers playing his guitar, swaying his body from left to right and Mooney doing the same while expressing the words with his hands at the end, both guys look like they had a lot of fun shooting this clip!

Dan + Shay Surprise Crowd At La La Land Kind Cafe Appearance With Meaningful New Unreleased Song "Her, The Kids, And Jesus"

Here is post one of two about Dan + Shay's pop-up event at La La Land Kind Cafe in Nashville this afternoon.

Today's post is centered around a video that Nashville XP posted on their YouTube channel of the duo acoustically performing "Her, The Kids, And Jesus", an unreleased song that has not been recorded yet, according to Dan Smyers at the end of the clip.

A story about his wife, their kids, and Jesus, the three most important people in his life, I have a feeling that Shay Mooney had a hand in writing this track based on the lyrics I have heard so far. These include, "She calls me love They call me daddy He'll call me up when my days are done, I don't deserve what I've been given, I've been blessed in more ways than one."

I know we do not get to see all of the action Mooney has with his wife and kids on a daily basis. They have a mix of good and bad days like everyone else. However, from the pictures and videos I've seen on his Instagram account and on his wife Hannah's throughout the year, I can tell that he is a present, loving husband to Hannah and a present, loving father to his four precious boys, Asher, Ames, Abram, and Aubrey. I could add on multiple adjectives to Mooney's rolls as a husband and as a father.

I truly hope Dan + Shay record this track and put it on a future album. It sounds like a huge hit to me. Only having heard the first verse and chorus so far via the YouTube clip multiple times, "Her, The Kids, And Jesus" has brought me to cry happy tears. While I am not a parent, I am able to connect with the song, thinking about my own parents who raised me, Mooney as a father, and my friends who are mothers raising their own families.

Below is the clip of the duo singing their unreleased song today at La La Land Kind Cafe in Nashville courtesy of Nashville XP's YouTube channel for you to enjoy!

"Flashback Friday" To March 14, 2014 When I Saw Dan + Shay In Concert For The Sixth Time With A Great Group Of Friends

"Flashback Friday" to when I got to see Dan + Shay live in concert for the sixth time on March 14, 2024 at Van Andel Arena with my wonderful group of friends! From left to right in this picture is me (Stacy), my friend Sarah, and my friend Melly! We had the best night standing up, dancing, and singing along to the duos hits and other songs during their set! Not pictured in the photo below are the other five people who were also sitting in our row!

Before I even was able to get my hand on tickets for the Heartbreak On The Map Tour, Melly sent a text and told me that her husband Cameron had already secured eight tickets and Sarah and I could have two of them! He also invited four of his and Melly's friends who I had met in the past! We all had dinner together prior to the concert and it was very nice to engage with everyone and hang out with some other people who I had not seen in quite some time!

I have turned all seven friends in that group into Dan + Shay fans! πŸ˜€

I hope that we can all attend a Dan + Shay concert together again in the future! πŸ˜€πŸŽ΅πŸŽ€

You Have The Opportunity For A Special Holiday Dan + Shay Meet And Greet In Nashville Tomorrow!

On Thursday December 18, Dan + Shay got their fans excited when they reposted a social media story from @lalalandkindcafe that featured a photo of them each holding a coffee drink with their respective name on it. The cafe's Instagram story caption read, "something coming very soon nashville πŸ‘€πŸŽ„ @danandshay."

Picture courtesy of Dan + Shay's Instagram story

Today, the duo created their own Instagram story that read, "NASHVILLE wanna met us tomorrow?"

Picture courtesy of Dan + Shay's Instagram story

One hour later, they added a video their story that gives fans all of the details of what will be happening to celebrate their newest original holiday song "Long Live Christmas".

"COME MEET US TOMORROW," Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney started the caption for the video. "we will be meeting the first 300 people to bring an unwrapped toy from 12-4 PM at @lalalandkindcafe. come hang out with us and spread some holiday cheer! πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„"

The guys will be at the 2212 12th AVE S b 3 La La Land location in Nashville!

If you live in or near Nashville, tomorrow is your chance to make a difference for local kids by bringing in a gift and get to meet Dan + Shay! If I lived around that area, I would most definitely be there tomorrow!

"Throwback Thursday" To When Dan + Shay Sang Beautiful Partial Cover Of "Butterfly Kisses" At Soundcheck

For this "Throwback Thursday" post, I am taking it all the way back to the summer of 2016!

Dan + Shay can literally sing any song from any genre, put their own stamp on it, and make it sound amazing. When the duo posted a clip of them singing part of Bob Carlisle's hit "Butterfly Kisses" during soundcheck before their show on July 29, 2016, I remember being blown away by Shay Mooney showing off his crazy vocals and hearing Dan Smyers singing harmony alongside him. The sweet emotion that they put into this very short cover was beautiful, and as always, left me wanting to hear them sing the whole song.

I also have memories hearing the original version of the song when my family would listen to the top 40 station in the car growing up. I really hope Dan + Shay release a full cover of "Butterfly Kisses" one day in the near future because it would bring me back to those times hearing it on the radio growing up, but I know the duo would put their own stamp on it and make it feel more modern!

Below is a clip of Dan + Shay's soundcheck cover courtesy of their YouTube channel for you to enjoy! πŸ¦‹πŸ˜˜π…

It's "Welcome Wednesday"! What is your favorite Dan + Shay Original Christmas Song? Please Sound Off With Your Favorite In The Comment Section!

Dan + Shay started releasing their own original Christmas songs in 2020. The first was the upbeat "Take Me Home For Christmas" about taking your significant other home for the holidays and showing them around the city they grew up in. That was followed by the emotional track "Christmas Isn't Christmas", a song about the holidays not being the same if your significant other is not there. After that, the duo released a few more upbeat tunes like "Pick Out A Christmas Tree", "Officially Christmas", and "Holiday". Their most recent creation was  the twangy "Long Live Christmas" that came out on November 7, 2025. There are a handful plus of other songs from It's Officially Christmas: The Double Album that I did not mention.

For today's "Welcome Wednesday" question, I want to know what your favorite Dan + Shay original Christmas song is! Please sound off in the comment section of this post! πŸ™‚πŸŽ΅πŸŽ„

I love every single original holiday song Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have released for different reasons that will be covered in an upcoming post. "Christmas Isn't Christmas" and "Happy New Year" are two songs that struck a chord with me the first time I heard them. At the current moment, I would have to say "Long Live Christmas" is my favorite of the Dan + Shay penned tracks. I really like the Mumford & Sons (a rock band) vibe that the production and vocals give off. I also enjoy getting to hear Mooney use his rap skills on the second verse. And when I saw that Smyers was the sole writer on the song, that impressed me once again. I love the way he personalized the lyrics by putting the duos name in and mentioning their respective wives at the end. It is an incredibly catchy song from start to finish and makes me want to get up, dance, and sing along!

Dan + Shay Perform Emotional, Raw Acoustic Cover Of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" At 98.7 The Bull on March 15, 2015

It is truly incredible to have had a front row seat watching Dan + Shay's growth as artists from the time that I became a fan in March, 2014 through the present and hopefully for many more years to come. I know that they will show even more of that growth in many different avenues on their upcoming sixth studio project.

Going back to March 15, 2015 and viewing the duos cover performance of pop star Ed Sheeran's hit "Thinking Out Loud" in front of a live audience at country radio station 98.7 The Bull's Skype Live Studio (now PNC Live Studio), I had forgotten how overall polished the guys were early on in their career. Despite Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney being in their 20's at the time (Smyers in his mid 20's and Mooney in his early 20's), and both of them being their silly selves when they were not performing, the rawness and emotion they put into their rendition of the meaningful love song blew me away hearing it again today for the first time in quite awhile.

A song about finding your true love in the most unexpected places, growing old with that person through all of the changes that come with life, and loving that person for who they are, quirks and all, among other messages, Mooney really dug deep into telling the stories with his genuine facial expressions and pure vocals. He also showed off his vocal range throughout the song. Smyers' beautiful, flawless harmony and guitar playing complemented the lead vocalist nicely and he got into the performance as well with his genuine facial expressions. This made for what I thought was a perfect performance. I truly enjoyed it. The live studio audience applauded the duo at the end of the clip.

Both guys had girlfriends at the time and now they are both happily married, Smyers to his wife Abby and Mooney to his wife Hannah. The Smyers' have four rescue dogs while the Mooney's have four boys. Sheeran wrote "Thinking Out Loud", but hearing the duo sing it, they tailored it to their personal love stories and truly made it their own.

Stay tuned for future posts with my commentary on the duos other performances of Sheeran's hit. This was not the first time they covered the English pop singers song. You may remember my post from May 18 when Dan + Shay covered his sweet love song "Perfect" on The Elvis Duran Show. You can also look forward to future posts with my commentary on their additional performances of that song from over the years.

Dan + Shay Put Their Stamp On Billy Currington Hit "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To" In Short YouTube Clip

Since becoming a fan of country music in middle school, I found myself getting attached to many artists based on their voices, songwriting skills, personalities, and beyond. One of those artists was Billy Currington. The first time I heard one of his songs, I was hooked on all of these qualities. His voice was smooth and sultry,  he sang a range of songs about every day life, including "People Are Crazy", romantic relationships, including "Must Be Doin' Something Right", and transitioning after ending a romantic relationship, including in the upbeat "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To". His personality was very laid back, which reminded me of Kenny Chesney, the very first country artist I was introduced to.

When Dan + Shay posted a cover of Currington's song "It Don't Hurt Like It Used to" on their YouTube channel back on August 15, 2016, I was eager to hear the duo put their stamp on the song, which was new at the time. Singing the third verse and the chorus acoustically in the short clip, Seated on their tour bus, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney told the story about getting over a past relationship and trying to transition with their facial expressions and blended, honest vocals. I would love to hear their full version of this song one day, as this cover (like always) left me wanting more!

This is the only Currington song they have posted a cover so far. When the guys get back on the road in 2026, I hope they post some new acoustic covers while they are traveling from show to show, including more of Currington's hits! One that I would especially love to hear is the romantic, passionate "Must Be Doin' Something Right"! πŸ˜π…

Dan + Shay Post Warm, Harmony-Filled Clip of "Take Me Home For Christmas"

If you have been following along with my blog that I started back in May, you have probably read many of my posts about Dan + Shay's acoustic performances, whether they were full length or short clips. These are some of my favorite things that the duo have done because it is just their voices backed with the guitar or piano, nothing is produced. And most of the time, you can hear Dan Smyers' harmonies, which I really enjoy. I hope that his harmonies are clearer and that he takes the lead on at least one verse (or more!) on their sixth studio album! While he always gives Shay Mooney the spotlight, I think he should shine it on himself once in a while too because his voice is also unique!

In this clip that Smyers and Mooney posted on their YouTube on December 7, 2023, the guys performed a relaxed, acoustic version of the chorus of their very first original holiday song "Take Me Home For Christmas". Taking place in Smyers' home, you can see his stocking, his wife Abby's, and one for each of their dogs behind them above the fireplace. This was the perfect backdrop for their performance. The lead vocalist showed off his crazy range toward the end and you can hear Smyers' harmonies. I loved this stripped down version because it felt relaxed and a little bit different than the original. I also enjoyed watching the guys smiling while they sang during the clip. When they both came together at the very end singing "Won't you take me home for Christmas", it left me wanting to hear more.

"Flashback Friday": Dan + Shay Bring "Holiday Party" To "NBC Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting" Special On November 30, 2022

Whenever I get to watch Dan + Shay perform on television, they always bring joy to my heart in one way or another. They have given heartfelt, energetic, fun performances on many award shows, talk shows, reality TV shows, and specials over the years While I have love every single of of them for unique reasons, one of my favorites that comes to mind this time of year is when the duo sang their original Christmas song "Holiday Party" at the NBC Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting special that aired live on November 30, 2022.

With the massive Christmas tree behind the stage that would be lit at the end of the night as well as other lit trees around the duo, they had a festive setting for their two performances that night. The guys were dressed in their Sunday best, Shay Mooney in a navy blue suit with a white shirt and black bow tie, while Dan Smyers wore a green suit and a black turtleneck shirt. Their band members were also dressed in nice apparel. The duo entertained the crowd with their crisp vocals and positive energy and spirit. They both had smiles on their faces during the entire performance. Watching from my TV at home, I could tell that both guys were having a lot of fun on that stage!

Dan + Shay have performed multiple times on the special in 2022 as well as their most recent time in 2024, but they always leave me wanting to hear even more of their classic and original Christmas songs. I hope one day the guys get their own Christmas TV special. More of my thoughts on that in a future post!

"Throwback Thursday" To When I Bought Dan + Shay's Self-Titled Album At Target On June 22, 2018

For today's "Throwback Thursday" post, I am taking you back to the summer of 2018!

I was excited for the day that every single Dan + Shay album was released, especially their third self-titled project that was released on June 22, 2018. The way that they teased the lead single "Tequila" on social media was clever, posting black and white pictures of the iconic plus sign between their names, one of an agave plant, and then the next of an agave plant with the song title attached to it. That had fans including me wondering what the song was about, as the duo had not written about alcohol in their songs before. The song was not directly about the liquor, it was about the memories that come from a past relationship when the main character tastes tequila.

In addition to hearing "Tequila" many more times when the album was released, I was very ready to hear what other new topics Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney were going to sing about on this project. When the album came out at midnight EDT on June 22, 2018, I downloaded the rest of it on iTunes and started listening. I heard the album in its entirety. It was so good that I had it on repeat through my earbuds into the wee hours of the morning. The first two songs that really stuck out to me were "What Keeps You Up At Night" and "Island Time". As time went on, I fell in love with the rest of the album, which included songs like "Speechless" and "My Side Of The Fence".

Later that afternoon, my friend and I went out to lunch and then stopped at Target on the way home so I could buy my physical copy of Smyers and Mooney's third album! She took a picture of me in one of my Dan + Shay t-shirts, holding my copy and I could not stop smiling! πŸ˜€ Their music had always put a huge smile on my face and their self-titled album was no different! πŸ˜€ I also took a couple of pictures of the album in the display case!

Stay tuned for future posts where I profile the songs from this incredible album!

When Dan + Shay announce their sixth studio album soon, and especially the day it is released in 2026, make sure to stay tuned for my excitement posts around that! Their Bigger Houses album was released on September 15, 2023, so it has been over two years of waiting patiently, and I am more than ready to hear all of the amazing songs they have been working so hard on writing, singing, and producing! I know the extra long wait is going to be well worth it in the end!πŸ˜€πŸŽ΅

"Welcome Wednesday": When Did You Hear Dan + Shay's Debut Album For The First Time?

It's "Welcome Wednesday"! On Sunday December 7, I wrote my post about it being the 13 year anniversary of Dan + Shay's very meeting! Since I have been reminiscing on my memories with the guys from when I became a fan, today's question circles around that time.

In the comment section below or in the comment section of my Instagram post, please tell me approximately when you heard Dan + Shay's debut album Where It All Began for the first time. What did you think of their voices, the production, and the songs? Which songs stuck out to you after your first listen? I want to read your stories, as I know they will be different than mine!

I first heard the duos debut album the last week of March in 2014. I had the free version of Spotify at the time (with commercials) and remember seeing a banner on the screen that said the album was streaming for free the week before its release.

Before I started listening, I looked at the track list. The song title "19 You + Me" looked familiar to me, as if I had heard it somewhere in the past. My local country radio station B93.7 FM had played their debut single a handful of times at the end of 2013 and I heard it a few times. I remember absolutely being hooked on the song and the voices, but my station never announced their names or the song title, and I did not think to look them up at the time.

I listened to the 12-song project all the way through for the first time and remember being absolutely blown away the whole thng. Shay Mooney's vocals sounded crisp and seasoned and Dan Smyers' harmonies were tight alongside the lead vocalist. Smyers' production alongside Scott Hendricks amazed me. I truly felt like the album took me on a ride from the first track, the cheeky song "Show You Off" all the way to the slow, sensual "Close Your Eyes" that ends the album. I was also impressed with the songwriting concepts. To be completely honest, I loved every song, but some of my initial favorites that really stood out to me were "19 You + Me", "Nothin' Like You", "Show You Off", What You Do To Me", and "Parking Brake".

After that first listen, I knew I would have the album on repeat for a long time. I also already knew that I would be a fan of this duo for the rest of my life based on what I heard. Smyers and Mooney have shown so much growth from their debut album all the way through to their Bigger Houses album and even on It's Officially Christmas: The Double Album. I know that they will continue to show growth in all aspects of their music on the forthcoming sixth studio album that I am eagerly awaiting for them to announce soon!

I am so grateful for Dan + Shay's music and my friendship with them. They are truly the greatest vocalists I have ever heard and that says a lot about their talent. Here is to many more years of them making the most amazing music, performing live, and interacting with their fans!

Today Is The 13 Year Anniversary Of Dan + Shay’s Very First Meeting

I cannot believe that today is the 13 year anniversary of the day that Dan Smyers invited Shay Mooney over to the house he bought on Craigslist. They met one another for the very first time on December 7, 2012, Smyers heard Mooney’s incredible voice for the very first time, and the rest is history! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚πŸŽΆ

Tomorrow I will write a lengthier post about what the duo meeting that day has meant to me from the time I became a fan in March, 2014 through the present day.

In honor of today being “Where It All Began” for the duo over a decade ago, I want to know what your favorite album has been from them so far! Your Choices are Where It All Began, Obsessed, Dan + Shay, Good Things, or Bigger Houses! Please let me know in the comment section below or in the comment section of my Instagram post! πŸ˜ŠπŸŽΆπŸ‘πŸ»

While I love each album for different reasons, my favorite by far is their most recent project, Bigger Houses. This album has meant the most to me, as it has helped me heal from losing some close relatives in the last few years. Some of the songs that impacted me immensely in those respects are “Heartbreak On The Map”, “Heaven + Back”, and “Missing Someone”. I also have gone through some tough job loss since 2024, and “Breakin’ Up With A Broken Heart” helped me heal from that and move onto my new venture with this blog! I have always been grounded, so the message of the song “Bigger Houses” reminded me to stay that way and appreciate what I do have. “Neon Cowgirl” has reminded me that while I have had to deal with grief from losing loved ones, jobs, and dealing with some other mental and emotional things, they have been hard. But I know that I am strong and was born to fly and do big things! I know those big things are still coming down the line! ❤️❤️❤️

Here is my very first meet and greet picture with Dan + Shay from October 12, 2014!

Dan + Shay Advised Blake Shelton's Team On Season 20 Of "The Voice", Three Years Before They Became Coaches Themselves

Dan + Shay made their debut as the first coaching duo on the United States version of the singing competition The Voice in early 2024. Leading up that, the guys had performed on the finale episode of the show for a few seasons starting in 2018. They also were advisors to country music superstar Blake Shelton's team during the battle rounds at the beginning of 2021 during season 20 of the long running NBC show.

Each time I watched Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney perform their hits on the finale episodes and especially when I got to witness them advising Shelton's team in 2021, I had a really good feeling they would be amazing coaches on the show in the future, and that is what happened last year! I really listened to the feedback and advice they gave to every contestant on Shelton's team during season 20, and they all listened and incorporated the things into their performances. The same thing happened when I watched Team Dan + Shay compete in every round in 2024. Stay tuned for future posts to read what advice and feedback the guys gave to their team.

When Smyers and Mooney were announced as Team Blake's battle round advisors in 2021, they took to their Instagram account on March 29, 2021 and posted a silly selfie with Shelton on the set along with a funny caption.

"not sure if "@nbcthevoice knew what they were getting into when we were asked to join @blakeshelton's team as advisers this season," the duo wrote. "tune in tonight at 8/7c for our first episode of the show! trust us, you don't want to miss this. πŸ˜‚"

Dan + Shay Send Out Christmas Cards To Their Fans

Happy Friday to my wonderful blog readers and social media followers! Here is my "Flashback Friday" post!

If you read my blog post on June 1, you probably remember I wrote about receiving a personalized Christmas card from Dan + Shay! Here is a link to that post if you did not have a chance to read it! https://dailydashofdanandshay.blogspot.com/2025/06/stacys-special-christmas-memory-with.html I participated in a Twitter contest they were having at the time, and was the winner one specific day in December, 2014. They wrote my first name (Stacy) to start it, talked about meeting me at their show that October, and looked forward to seeing me in 2015 again!

I cannot remember if the duo have been sending out holiday cards every year since then, but I do know they have been the last handful of years. From what I have seen other fans post during the time period, the cards are not personalized anymore. They had a generic message inside. However, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney still take the time to sign them.

Last year, you had to sign up on their website to receive one. I signed up, but did not receive anything. I am ok with that, as the guys have done so much for me throughout the years and I am incredibly grateful for it all!

At the end of my post from June 1, I mentioned that Smyers and Mooney were sending out Christmas cards last year and added a screenshot of their corresponding Instagram post from November 18.

They also posted a video on their YouTube channel Shorts page on November 17 to go along with the Instagram post. It was captioned, "Should we send out signed Christmas cards again this year? πŸŽ„" The video featured behind the scenes footage of the guys in the studio recording their song "Pick Out A Christmas Tree".

I love seeing the joyful expressions on Mooney's face as he is singing the chorus and the way he is moving his arms and body around to the beat of the music! Smyers is sitting up playing the guitar and also having a good time! The studio is decorated with Christmas trees and Mooney's microphone stand is decked with garland and lights!

I wonder if Dan + Shay will have a sign-up to receive a Christmas card this year? We will have to wait and find out! I will keep everyone posted!

Below is the short behind the scenes studio footage of Dan + Shay singing "Pick Out A Christmas Tree" courtesy of their YouTube shorts page for you to enjoy!

"Throwback Thursday" To When I Saw Dan + Shay Perform At My Alma Mater With A Friend In 2016

"Throwback Thursday" to just over two years of being a fan of Dan + Shay. I feel extremely lucky and grateful to have seen the duo in concert six times so far. They are truly my favorite artists to see live, listen to on Spotify, and interact with on social media. When the guys announced that they were going to have a concert in the field house at my alma mater Grand Valley State University on April 7, 2016, I knew that I absolutely needed to attend. I also knew it would be a special show for me. My friend Sarah was my plus-one for the evening and we both had the best time. She was not a huge country music fan up to that point, but during college and after the 2016 concert, I think my love for the genre rubbed off on her. She became a Dan + Shay fan after the phenomenal show they put on.

Playing for one of the biggest crowds up to that point in their career, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney performed songs from their first two albums, Where It All Began and Obsessed as well as some covers (songs they sang by other artists). While I was excited to hear many of the tracks from these two albums like number one hits "Nothin' Like You" and "How Not To", I was most excited to hear their new single at the time, "From The Ground Up" live. This song was a step up from the love songs on their first album. It was inspired by their sets of grandparents who were each married for many years. I was emotional hearing it live for the first time and the guys did not disappoint with their vocals, harmonies, and energy on the stage. These things rang true over the course of their entire set. Dan + Shay introduced so many college students, alumni, and beyond to their music. It was truly a night that I will never forget.

Stay tuned for future posts with videos I took at this concert! Below is an awesome picture I took of Dan + Shay performing! I love the color of the lights and background they had for their set!

It's "Welcome Wednesday": What Is Your Top Favorite Interaction On Social Media, In Person, With Their Music, etc. With Dan + Shay From Over The Years?

It's "Welcome Wednesday" on my Daily Dash Of Dan + Shay Instagram account as well as on my blog post. Today's question is: What is your top favorite interaction with Dan + Shay on social media, in person, with their music, etc. from over the year? I encourage you to leave a comment on this post with your favorite interaction/memory with the duo or in the comment section of my Instagram post!

I have many favorite interactions/memories with Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney that I will highlight more in upcoming posts! Receiving a "Happy Birthday" tweet from Mooney on Twitter (now X) the first year I became a fan in 2014 to Smyers following me on Twitter at the time, receiving a couple of personal short videos from him (Smyers) over the years, meeting the guys in person twice, and many more, each interaction has meant so much to me. I will never take any of them for granted.

Last week I wrote about the time Dan + Shay completely surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day in 2015. I talked about how grateful I was that the duo did that for me and a handful of other fans. Today, I will say my top interaction with them right beneath the flowers is what the guys did for me on Valentine's Day in 2021. They sent me a variety box of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! Once again, I was completely surprised and felt so much gratitude toward the duo. They blew me away with their kindness and thoughtfulness. I will revisit the rest of the details on this exciting day in my "Trip Down Memory Lane With Dan + Shay: 2021 Edition" in early 2026. Here are the two pictures my dad took of me with the doughnuts!
