Today Is The 13 Year Anniversary Of Dan + Shay’s Very First Meeting

I cannot believe that today is the 13 year anniversary of the day that Dan Smyers invited Shay Mooney over to the house he bought on Craigslist. They met one another for the very first time on December 7, 2012, Smyers heard Mooney’s incredible voice for the very first time, and the rest is history! 🥳🎉🥂🎶

Tomorrow I will write a lengthier post about what the duo meeting that day has meant to me from the time I became a fan in March, 2014 through the present day.

While I love each album for different reasons, my favorite by far is their most recent project, Bigger Houses. This album has meant the most to me, as it has helped me heal from losing some close relatives in the last few years. Some of the songs that impacted me immensely in those respects are “Heartbreak On The Map”, “Heaven + Back”, and “Missing Someone”. I also have gone through some tough job loss since 2024, and “Breakin’ Up With A Broken Heart” helped me heal from that and move onto my new venture with this blog! I have always been grounded, so the message of the song “Bigger Houses” reminded me to stay that way and appreciate what I do have. “Neon Cowgirl” has reminded me that while I have had to deal with grief from losing loved ones, jobs, and dealing with some other mental and emotional things, they have been hard. But I know that I am strong and was born to fly and do big things! I know those big things are still coming down the line! ❤️❤️❤️
