Dan + Shay Have Fun Getting Fans Excited With "Take Me Home For Christmas" Teaser Clip

Dan + Shay have posted some pretty epic teaser clips for the first anticipated singles from their last four studio albums. A teaser is meant to give the fans a very short taste of what the song sounds like and what might be included in the corresponding music video. It also gets the fans excited for what to expect when they hear the entire tune and view the music video in full. 

When it came to the duo releasing their first ever original Christmas song "Take Me Home For Christmas" and the music video for the track on November 6, 2020, it also received a teaser. Posted on November 5, the 14 second clip first showed Dan Smyers putting on the top half of his Santa costume. Then Shay Mooney is shown almost fully in his Santa attire. He is seen putting on his white beard. After that, we see Smyers putting on his white beard. This is followed by Mooney putting on his Santa hat. Toward the end, both guys viewed themselves in the mirror and Smyers gave a wink with his right eye. 😉 The clip ends with a red screen that says "MIDNIGHT", indicating that the song was going to be released at that time.

This teaser was perfect because it makes the viewer think the song and music video are solely about Santa. While the guys are featured as Saint Nick a few times throughout the full video, it is not the main subject. Dan + Shay have always been funny, goofy guys since day one and this teaser showed that side of them.
