Country music duo Dan + Shay dressed up in their Sunday best and give hopeful performance of "Say So" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Country music duo Dan + Shay hit the television talk show late night circuit last week to start promoting their new powerful single "Say So". Their performance of the song that is changing lives aired on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday May 19th during the final segment of the broadcast.

In the past when Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have performed on television talk shows, they typically were dressed in very casual outfits. But this time around, they decided to dress up in their "Sunday best" for the occasion. Smyers was seen sporting a gray suit over a black collared button-down dress shirt covered in white polka dots and Mooney was donning a black suit over a white button-down dress shirt and black tie. There has been a theme with this in the "Say So" and "Young" music videos, which you will see my commentary about at some point this coming week.

When the guys sang the first verse of the song where we find out about the unexpected call they received regarding their friend who died from suicide, and the disbelief they felt when it happened, they had somber, serious expressions on their faces. In addition, the lights on the stage were different shades of blue to represent the dark, heavy subject.

Once Mooney's vocals soared and Smyers joined in during the chorus that mentions asking for help when you are going through a tough time and points out that "you're not alone", you could see the more hopeful expressions on their faces. This time, the lights turned to brighter colors including purple, and there were red, pink, and orange colored clouds on the big screen behind them.

The guys went back to showing serious emotions on their faces and the lights went back to different shades of blue during the second verse that talks about even though it is a hard and scary thing to do, it is incredibly important to let someone know if you are struggling. If you do not, you will most likely suffer the most unimaginable consequence.

During the bridge, the lights were still multiple varieties of blue. The more hopeful colored lights showed up again during the final chorus and Dan + Shay's infectious, positive energy was on full display while singing to the crowd.

I cannot wait to see them perform "Say So" on other TV shows over the next several months and later this year on tour. It is already making a huge impact on people's lives and I know it will continue to for months and years to come. The duo were incredibly brave to put this song out there and I am beyond proud of them for doing so. It is literally saving lives! 💙
