Dan + Shay Bring Joy To Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt Patients On Christmas Eve, 2018

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney have always been known to give back over the years, whether it is to their fans, animals, and even kids at a children's hospital. I have covered many examples over the last several months and I will spotlight more of the duos good deeds in posts in future posts.

Ryan Seacrest, who you might know best as the host of the popular long-running reality television singing competition American Idol, created Seacrest Studios. They are located in multiple hospital all over the United States, including one at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital At Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. Dan + Shay headed there on Christmas Eve, 2018 to play some of their songs for a group of patients and their families.

One of the duos performances that day was of their very first number one hit "Nothin' Like You". In a room that featured a giant candy cane and gingerbread man on the wall and a beautifully lit, decorated Christmas tree in the background, everyone who was gathered watched the guys intently as they sang their upbeat tune acoustically. Smyers' smooth harmonies can be heard especially well in this clip and Mooney showed off his crazy vocal range. It looked like both guys had fun singing for the kids and their families. At the end, everyone, including Seacrest, who sat at his desk in the room, gave the duo a huge round of applause.

I cannot even imagine how hard it must be to spend the holidays in a hospital at any age, especially sick young children who want to be at home with their families opening their gifts by the Christmas tree. I bet that Dan + Shay provided a bright spot in the day for this group of kids and their families.
