Tonight was the start of that time! Earlier this evening, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney gave their fans a surprise update video we had been waiting for. I have been patient with them and was not expecting to see any news today. When I got on my social media accounts and saw that they posted an update video, I was so excited that I started crying happy tears! ðŸ˜
Smyers gave some major updates. He and Mooney did not plan to take almost the whole year off from social media, but that changed when they both started to get super creative in the studio. This led to them spending almost every day writing and producing new music. Mooney chimed in and said he is excited for the fans to hear the new music once it is ready.
When it comes to the remainder of 2025, Smyers said fans can expect a few things. First, we will hear another Christmas song that they didn’t arrange to record so soon after their highly successful double Christmas album in 2024, but it fell into their laps and he said they are very excited about this track. Smyers also mentioned that he and Mooney have a couple of other surprises coming for the fans that they will start putting out teasers for to spark our curiosity soon.
Looking into the future in 2026, Smyers said fans can expect a couple of new tours and the duo releasing their sixth studio album! I hope one of the 2025 surprises is them announcing and releasing the first single from the forthcoming project before the end of the year, but we will have to wait and see!
More updates to come as Dan + Shay release their new Christmas song and start rolling out the surprises they mentioned in the video! I cannot wait to hear the new Christmas track and of course the duo’s sixth studio album. I know they will blow me away with the new music like they always do!
